A trail provides access to the Okanagan River and some good spots for camping, fishing, and canoeing, but take binoculars; the area's thickets are a well-known habitat for birds such as the black headed grosbeak, northern oriole, American redstart, Lewis’s woodpecker, yellow warbler, warbling vireo, and many others. Some unique flora and fauna are present in the nearby ecological reserve.

Short trails lead from the campground to a short section of the dike on the Okanagan River. It is a scenic walk along the river amidst old growth cottonwood trees. For further hiking, visitors must leave the park and drive to the other side of the river where the dike runs all the way to Osoyoos.  

There are 7 campsites - the sites are shaded by the tall cottonwood and enclosed by thickets of rose bushes, which provide excellent privacy. The park is open year round with services offered from March 30 - October 31 (weather permitting). Only basic facilities provided – pit toilets, picnic tables, fir pits, firewood and water.
