As well known as the steelhead are the Kamloops trout. Kamloops trout are a unique strain of trout that put on a eye-popping, acrobatic performance for fly-fishers skilled enough to hook one. These wild rainbow trout, native to central and south-central Interior regions of the province, are the prize in Niskonlith Provincial park.

Enjoy a hike along the gentle trails in Niskonlith Lake Provincial Park in the fall to see a host of migratory birds. Birdwatching, swimming, scuba diving and boating are popular activities within the park. Many of this parks trails are suitable for cross-country skiing and snowshoeing in the winter months.

There are 30 campsites at this park.  Only basic facilities are provided and the operating season for this park is May 15th to September 15th. The park may be accessible earlier and later depending on weather.  A small launching area is available for car-top boats. Note to visitors, the nearest public telephone is located at Chase, 8km away.
