Walloper Lake in early Spring

Walloper Lake Provincial Park, situated just off the Coquihalla Highway, offers good fishing and picnicking on a day-use only basis.

This former Forest Service recreation site is being operated to Forest Service standards (rustic) to serve regional use and the needs of travellers on the Coquihalla Highway.

Walloper Lake is surrounded by open lodgepole pine, spruce, and fir forest. Canoeing and kayaking are popular activities in the park, and although there are no developed ski trails at Walloper Lake Provincial Park, the park is used by cross-country skiers willing to cut their own tracks.

Facilities in the 55-hectare park include a picnic table, pit toilets, a fishing wharf, and an undeveloped area for launching small boats. The nearest public telephone is located at Lac Le Jeune Provincial Park, 2 km away.

The park site is now closed to camping out of a concern for overloading of the roadside park, and campers are directed to the Lac Le Jeune campground. Overnight camping is therefore not permitted in Walloper Lake Park.

Walloper Lake Provincial Park is located 23 miles (37 km) south of Kamloops, accessible via the Lac Le Jeune exit off Coquihalla Highway 5. Watch for highway signs for Lac Le Jeune Park.
