Quatsino Sound
Quatsino Provincial Park is located on northern Vancouver Island, on the north side of Quatsino Sound, a huge sound which leads in from the Pacific Ocean almost separating the north island region.

The park includes the Crown land on the east side of Koprino Harbour and the adjacent peninsula to the east, as far as Shapland Cove. The Koprino River estuary is noted for its critical fish rearing and waterfowl habitat, and is a popular eagle viewing area.

This 654-hectare undeveloped park contains known archaeological sites and protects a mature forest, some small lakes, and the sheltered inlet of Koprino Harbour.

Quatsino Sound is a popular sea kayaking destination for exploring the profusion of sheltered inlets. The small user-maintained Koprino Campsite in Koprino Harbour has 10 campsites, complete with fire rings, picnic tables and a pit toilet. Some maps show the campsite as Spencer Cove Recreation Site.

Wilderness, backcountry or walk-in camping is allowed, but no facilities are provided. Most visitors choose to camp on the beach at Quatsino Park. Campers must be totally self-sufficient. No fee is charged.

Boat launches in the vicinity of Quatsino Park can be found in Winter Harbour, Coal Harbour and Port Alice. The closest boat launch is adjacent to the log dump in Koprino Harbour, near the docks of the Holberg Yacht Club.

Quatsino Provincial Park can be reached by logging roads from Holberg on Koprino Main or by boat from Winter Harbour, Coal Harbour or Port Alice.
