My husbands grandfather George Clayton appears on the 1911 census for Yale, he is working as a carpenter for the Canadian Pacific railway. there are a number of workers from overseas noted on the census page. I am wondering what work they were doing at that time? as i thought the railway had already been built by then.
Would be grateful if anyone can tell me.
Thanks
