  Weather in BC

Dry Gulch is situated at the foot of Redstreak Mountain on the eastern side of the Rocky Mountain Trench, shadowed by the peaks of the Stanford Range. Dry Gulch is often used as an overflow campground for the popular Kootenay National Park nearby.

Visitors come here for Radium Hot Springs, within the boundaries of Kootenay National Park, which has the same mountain peaks and glaciers as Alberta's more famous Banff National Park. Up to 3,000 people a day, 400,000 visitors per year, visit the Radium Hot Springs, which are operated by Parks Canada. The hot pool curves against the cliffs above, giving a wonderful sense of being in the canyon, and sometimes you can see Rocky Mountain Big Horn sheep grazing on the steep ledges above the pools.

Native people have used these natural hot springs for hundreds of years before being commercially developed in 1911. The hot springs, open to the public year-round, are equipped with two pools, and make an ideal soaking stop at the base of the Kootenay Mountain Range.

There are 26 vehicle/tent campsites at Dry Gulch Provincial Park. Basic facilities - picnic tables, pit toilets, fire pits, firewood and water - as well as flush toilets are provided. Some facilities are also wheelchair accessible. Fees are collected from May to October.

Dry Gulch Provincial Park is located 5 miles (8 km) south of Radium on the East side of the Rocky Mountain Trench - five minutes south of Radium Hot Springs on Highway 93.
