  Weather in BC

James Chabot is nestled between the Rocky and Purcell Mountains on the shores of the 9-mile (15-km) long Windermere Lake. A broad, sandy beach backed with open grassy fields offers pleasant surroundings for travellers searching for a pleasant, landscaped environment.

A newly constructed 350 metre elevated boardwalk, allows visitors to view wildlife and appreciate the wetland within the park. The boardwalk is part of a initiative by the Columbia Rivers Greenways Alliance to link natural habitat and green spaces along the Columbia River.

This is a delightful spot for swimming, canoeing, kayaking, trout fihsing and windsurfing. Windsurfing can be an especially elevating experience when it takes place between the towering peaks of the Rockies and the serrated ridges of the Purcells. Windermere Lake is the place to go for this serene activity. Launch from the sandy beach in James Chabot Provincial Park, where strong winds arise with regularity on summer afternoons.

Only day-use/picnicking facilities are provided - picnic tables, toilets and drinking water. There is also a children’s playground and a volleyball net nearby. The park is wheelchair accessible.

James Chabot Provincial Park is located 2 miles (3 km) west of Highway 93/95 at Invermere in the BC Rockies region of British Columbia.
