Wasa Lake Provincial Park sits at the northern end of Wasa Lake, one of the best recreational lakes in the East Kootenays and one of the warmest in the province.† This 144-hectare park is surrounded by the Rocky Mountains to the east and the Purcell Mountains to the west, and protects one of the most threatened ecosystems in the world.

There's literally something here for everyone; the sandy beaches on Wasa Lake are excelent - perfect for swimming and sunbathing.†As may be expected, the lake is a favourite destination for kayakers and anglers. Nature trails include the Forest of the Rainshadow, a 2.7-km self-guided interpretive trail, and the 8-km Wasa Lions Way, a paved path that circles the lake and is suitable for hikers, cyclists and visitors in wheelchairs.

A self guided mountain bike loop takes you from Wasa Lake to Lazy Lake. While experienced bikers in top shape can hammer the loop in under 2 hours it is suggested that most people plan on a day to really enjoy the scenery along the way with a break and maybe a swim at Lazy Lake.

Education interpretive programs are offered at the parkís amphitheatre during the summer, including guided walks, slide shows and childrenís programs.†Every Sunday on the August long weekend, a sand sculpture contest is held on Camperís Beach. In winter, the cross-country ski trails are well groomed, and there's even a maintained ice rink with night lights.

There are 104 vehicle/tent campsites at Wasa Lake Park, as well as four day-use/picnicking areas.†Basic facilities are provided, as well as an adventure playground and a sani-station.†Some facilities are wheelchair accessible.†There are two yurts available and can be reserved by phone only through Discover Camping. A boat launch is available on the east shore across from the campground at Camperís Beach.†The park is open from May 1 to September 15, during which time park fees are collected.

Wasa Lake Provincial Park is located in the BC Rockies region of British Columbia, 25 miles (40 km) north of Cranbrook off Highway 93/95.
