Sasquatch
Bigfoot hidingfromus

There are very few people who have ever seen a Wolverine in the wild, or a Fisher, or even a Cougar. Fewer still have seen a Sasquatch. Those who have, have risked ridicule in telling their stories. While there are many sight records, plaster casts of footprints, and some photographic evidence, to date no specimen has ever been found.

Sasquatch (also known as Bigfoot) is an apelike erect mammal, standing over two meters tall; there are reports of individuals over three meters. It is large, and barrel chested, weighing an estimated 300-1100 kilograms. Sasquatches walk erect with a smooth gait, leaving footprints as much as two meters apart.

Observers report that Sasquatch fur is very dark, and covers most of the body except for the face. Those who have been close to one claim that there is a strong unpleasant odour.

Several authors have written about the Sasquatch, the most recent being Vancouver Island wildlife biologist Dr. John Bindernagel. Bindernagel is quietly and patiently collecting observational data, while as a biologist showing how Sasquatch reports are unlikely to be misreported bears. He acknowledges that perhaps the biggest hurdle in understanding the Sasquatch is human skepticism, but he remains confident that one day specimen evidence will be found.

Until then he walks in the woods, in the hope that one day he will join the lucky few who have seen a Sasquatch in the wild.
